You will cross the vast Tibetan high plateau, explore Yamdrok lake and its crystal water ,visit holy Mount Kailash and see the highest mountain on earth vanishing in a spectacular sunset from Rongbuk monastery at Everest Base Camp. China Overland Group Tour Kyrgyzstan – Nepal – Itinerary

Day 1: Kyrgzstan – Border station

Border crossing day. All vehicles have to be parked 120 kilometers outside of Kashgar for customs check. Transfer to Kashgar. Overnight in Kashgar.

Day 2: Kashgar

Transfer to border customs station. Formalities. Drive to Traffic administration in Kashgar.

Day 3: Kashgar

Formalities at the traffic administration in Kashgar. Here, your temp. Chinese driving license and number plate will be issued. This process might take most of the day until 5 pm.

Day 4: Kashgar – Kargilik (Yecheng)

Kargilik is at the moment closed to foreigner. Overnight in a hotel approx. 50 km away from Kargilik in between Kashgar and Kargilik. You can choose between highway or country road. There are several sights which can bevisited in between such as Yenisgar.

Day 5: Kargilik – Mazha

First mountain passes above 4,000 meters. Today, you reach the province of Tibet and enter the Tibet plateau.

Day 6: Mazha – Duomaxiang

A long driving day on the Tiebtan pleatau. You should start driving around sunrise.

Overnight: There is the possibility of camping in the area. The final decision depend on the local authorities.

Day 7: Duomaxiang – Ali

Along Bangong lake to Ali. Lunch at the lake. Half of the lake lies in India, the other half in China. Half of the lake is filled with salt water, the other half with fresh-water.

Day 8: Ali -. Zanda

Drive through an fascination sand stone landscape to Zanda.

Day 9: Zanda

Visit the ruin of the Guge kingdom.

Day 10: Zanda – Mt. Kailash (Tarchen )– Lake Manasarova

Drive first to the village of Tarchen at the foot of Mt. Kailash. Park the vehicle and hike for 1 hour to Tarborche, where pilgrims put prayer flags and from where you can see the Kailash. The part belongs to the path which pilgrims take on their holy hike around the mountain. On to Lake Manasarovar (1 hour drive).

Hotel: There is the possibility of camping in the area. The final decision depend on the local authorities.

Day 11: Lake Manasarovar – Saga

Across the plateau to Saga.

Day 12: Saga – Lhatse – Xigaze

Long driving day to Xigaze, Tibet´s third biggest city.

Day 13: Xigaze to Lhasa

Visit Tashilhunpo monastery in the morning. On to Lhasa.

Day 14: Lhasa

Lhasa Sightseeing day. Visit the Potala Palace, the Barkhor market and other sights.

Day 15: Saga – Lhatse – Xigaze

Along spectacular Yamdrok Lake to Gyangze. Visit Tibet´s largest pagoda at Palcho monastery.

Day 16: Gyangze – Tingri – EBC

Stay overnight at Tingri or at Everest Base Camp.

Day 17: EBC – Gyirong

See sunrise at the Eversst Base Camp. Immediately after, leave for Gyirong where you should arrive rather early in order to prepare the exit on the next day.

Day 18: Gyirong – Nepal

Exit to Nepal. 80 km on Chinese side. Exit customs procedures.
