The most stable riding conditions for western Tibet and Mount Kailash are usually found between mid-April and June, as well as from mid-September until mid October. During these periods, skies are often exceptionally clear and visibility across the Himalayan range can be extraordinary.

Rainy season (July till mid-September) should be avoided. Although generally warmer, rain poses a serious risk, and visibility is generally much lower.
